ASCANIO Srl was founded in 2023 as a spin-off of ENEA ( https://www.innovazione.enea.it/)* - the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development - based on the idea and initiative of Dr. Geol. Alfonso Saccà. His vision, promoted in collaboration with Dr. Michele Caponero and Eng. Corrado Carini, was to combine experience in the field of monitoring major infrastructure projects, scientific research, and a solid industrial structure. This vision was first defined and validated thanks to an ENEA proof-of-concept project focused on the development of sensor chains based on FBG technology. The project involved, in addition to ENEA with the Frascati Research Center laboratory, which has been active in fiber optic sensors since 2001, the companies Earth System srl and GEI Elettronica srl, both successfully operating since 2000 in the production of sensors and acquisition systems for geotechnical monitoring. Ascanio srl was established through a partnership of companies and expertise that reflects the initial initiative, involving qualified scientific and technical personnel from ENEA, professionals with consolidated experience in the design, production, and application of geotechnical monitoring systems, and the participation of two specialized companies, Earth System srl and GEI Elettronica srl.

Specifically, Ascanio srl offers patented sensors and sensor arrays for civil and geotechnical engineering applications. These products are custom-made to simplify field installation, making them suitable for permanent, large-scale monitoring systems and multi-parameter measurements. Our mission is to offer advanced, customized monitoring systems for easy, interference-free installation on any construction site. Our vision is to contribute to regions and communities served by efficient and safe infrastructure.
